From HIST208Y: Creating African Diasporas in the Americas

I have chosen to do my paper on Caribbean women and the African Diaspora. This topic seems to be neglected in the academic curricula and I was amazed at the amount of research on my topic found in the library and on-line. Interesting facts that stand out to me thus far in my research is that enslaved Caribbean women out numbered Caribbean men. Women were in such high demand to perform reproductive functions for the plantations and sexual favors for the master and the male slaves. Feel free to give me any information you find on Caribbean women.
